Nothing changes if nothing changes.
When I read that phrase the first time something in my brain clicked. At the time I was trying to get my Young Living business off the ground (it’s still not off the ground but if you want the best essential oils in the world go visit the Lifelines tab of this site). I needed to see that at the exact moment I saw it. I think it’s a quote by Mel Robinson - isn’t she amazing?
IT hit me that I needed to be willing to make changes to see a different result. So I did. The first thing that changed was the way I honored my body. (You can read that here or listen to it here). I started diving into business babe teachings from Alli Cassaza, Jordan Page, Ashley Washington, Gabriel Bernstein, and Lindsey Teague Moreno. They alll teach about finding rythym, momentum, and how to stay in alignment AND get things done.
But what happens when you’ve read all the books and you’re doing the things but you still feel stuck? Do a challenge. Get on instagram and find a 30 day challenge that resonates with you. I promise 30 days of consistency with a challenge that has variables and you’ll be in a better mental frame.
Here are some easy 30 Day challenges to get you started:
30 Days of No Purchase work outfits. Shop your closet and plan out a month’s worth of outfits. I promise, if you’re an American, you have enough garments in your closet to do this.
30 Days of Gratitude, this costs you nothing but 10 minutes a day. Instead of 20 minutes on your phone each night set a timer, 10 for play time 10 to process gratitude.
30 days of a 15 minute workout. You don’t have to crush your body to see progress. You just have to have 15 minutes. YOU WILL FEEL BETTER.
30 days of no eating out. This will help you eliminate those lingering cans in the back of your pantry and empty the bottom level of your freezer.
30 days of the gospels. Often times when I need a spiritual boost I’ll set a challenge to read a certain number of books per/month/season. In December I spent the entire month in Luke, in January it was 1st Samuel (#savage), in February I read Proverbs, March & April were Job, Hebrews, and Amos. You get the drift. You don’t have to camp out in any one book You just need to read it to refresh your soul.
Take a challenge. Use that momentum to help you achieve a task or goal you’ve been avoiding [I don’t mean the dishes]. I’ll be sharing some of these challenges in the lifelines soon but in the meantime I want you all to take a moment and step into alignment. What are your goals and dreams? If you can’t figure out what’s standing in the way pick a challenge. Then after the challenge is complete see where you stand with that vision.
I’m cheering for you.
